When It's Time to Replace Your Timing Belt

The timing belt is important to the smooth running of your engine. If your timing belt breaks, you won't be able to drive your car. Timing belts last anywhere from 60,000-90,000 miles. Your timing belt should be checked during routine maintenance to make sure it's still in good shape.

Your timing belt is responsible for opening and closing valves in your engine, allowing it to run properly. Sometimes a snapped timing belt can cause significant damage to your engine.

It is recommended that you get a new water pump the same time you get a new timing belt, as both have a similar lifespan. If you get a new timing belt before your current one breaks, you are going to save both time and money in damages.
