2024 Acura ZDX Type S Preview
Acura’s first full-electric model, the Acura ZDX, is being co-developed with GM and will use the flexible global EV platform powered by Ultium batteries. While the original ZDX debuted back in 2010, the new 2024 ZDX will have a more traditional two-box SUV shape that features a floating roof, smooth body sides, and a light-up grille. And of course, as the first step towards the all-electric lineup, there will also be a Type S rendition delivering the high-end performance and experience that many Des Moines drivers adore. The 2024 Acura ZDX Type S is likely the range-topping model as well as the all-wheel drive variant with higher performance specs! Learn more about Acura’s first electric model coming in 2024 below.
2024 Acura ZDX Preview
As of now, not much has been announced officially about the 2024 Acura ZDX or the 2024 Acura ZDX Type S. However, since this lineup is one of the several partnerships with GM, it’s likely that this model will share similar specs with other GM models that utilize the same platform, such as the Cadillac Lyriq SUV. If we take a look at the Cadillac Lyriq, we can expect rear- and all-wheel drive options as well as a range of 340 to 500 horsepower from the ZDX.
As for the design, the photos show a seamless look in an exciting cool blue shade. Almost like something from the future, the 2024 Acura ZDX sports a refreshing design that signifies the beginning of the electric Acura era. Similarly, the interior is minimalistic yet intriguing compared to the other cabins you might have seen in Waterloo. The new ZDX is now being styled in the same Acura Design Studio that once styled the original ZDX as their first vehicle in 2007.
More Electric Acura Preview
The 2024 Acura ZDX is the first zero-emissions model that is expected to be released in 2024, but that’s just the start of the electric Acura preview! Acura plans to launch more EV models starting in 2026 after the ZDX. The company has a global goal to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050 and the ZDX will lead the way toward this goal.
